Constantly being developed – Altoona and is beautiful and continues to grow. They have some great up and coming neighborhoods and expansion plan for new businesses in the area. While these are great things, it does result in regular construction in the area.

Weird parking in the River Prairie Park district – This is minor, but the heck is up with the parking in River Prairie Park!? You actually have to back in to the parking spaces which can be confusing for us small town folks!

Small Community – While Altoona is located directly next to Eau Claire, the actual city of Altoona is small. You can blink your eyes and not notice that you went through Altoona.

Harsh Winter Weather: Wisconsin is known for its cold winters, and Altoona is no exception. The area receives heavy snowfall, and the winter temperatures can drop well below freezing, making it challenging to get around and participate in outdoor activities.
