Here are some of our favorite tried-and-true (and a few hidden gem!) day trips that are worth the drive.

Pepin, WI – Lake Views + Laura Ingalls Wilder 🛶📚

Nestled along the Mississippi River, Pepin is a small-town favorite with big charm. Why Families Love It: Enjoy beautiful river views, grab lunch near the marina, and visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum—a hit for kids and history-loving moms alike.

Duluth, MN – Canal Park + Lake Superior Fun 🚢🍦

Wabasha, MN – National Eagle Center + River Views 🦅🌉

This Mississippi River town is best known for its National Eagle Center, where you can see live eagles up close.
